Anne's Story
Chronology since 1970: Rondout to Buffalo (UB) for a Bachelors. Then to NYC for a master's. Lived in Vermont a year; married guy met in college (Jim Smeeding) there in 1975. Just had our 35 anniversary in June 2010; no children, but now have our fifth dog together, a Giant Schnauzer named Zeus. Did a PhD in Seattle, and then lived in Austin, Texas for 20 years, where I taught at the University of Texas. Seven year stint in Athens, Georgia as an administrator at the University of Georgia. oved bicycling there, didn't really love university administration. Back in Texas since 2004, this time in Dallas at the University of Texas at Dallas. Love it. Also spend time at a little place in Steamboat Springs, Colorado we've had since 2000. My husband is in the pharmaceutical business -- mostly as a consultant or as a small business vendor. He's a fantastic cook, and I'm a fantastic eater. We love independent film, dogs, travel, and lots of other things we wish we had more time for.
